The interview F2F was scheduled on 3pm. I have arrived at 3pm in few mins HR met and informed about that I have to wait 15 mins. After about 15 mins, she took me to the 4th floor there I waited till 4.15pm for the person to show up. (Not a word about holding me for 75mins ,not even for the sake of courtesy) The person who came asked me everything related to Linux/network and the questions are very basic, few questions Im listing here, What is process(Answered) what is TTY(Answered) What is terminal(Answered) What is private network(Answered) what is root DNS (Answered) what is TTL(Answered) how the DNS resolution works(Answered) What is port(Answered) how TCP handshake works(Answered) What is mx record(Answered) what is SPF record(Answered) what is TXT record(Answered) Write script to query the mx record and check each IPs returned is working or not?(Explained how this can be achieved ) About 4 questions related to application debugging (Explained) The above mentioned questions only I can remember of. Try to understand here, that I was there for Cloud architect position and I have 12yrs total and have 9yrs full on cloud and Security. He never asked me on anything related to cloud or anything you mentioned in the Key responsibilities. I have never imagined that companies like Freshworks will follow saying something in the JD asking something in the screening process. My profile got rejected as I not able to write the script immediately. (Explaining logic and command that can be used is not helping) Be prepared to answer/handle irrelevant questions also.(you may expect, what is [a+b]^3 also :) ) I didn’t read Glassdoor reviews prior going here, or I would not have gone there wasted 4hrs of my time.
