Initially met with HR and talked about the role and opportunity as well as my background. HR was super friendly and supportive in setting up the next steps and learning about the company. 2nd Round was a coding challenge done on Codility. It was 3 questions with some SQL, Python and Distributed Computing. The questions were all reasonable and the distributed computing one was quite fun and unique. The next interview was a few rounds with some engineers. The first being about behaviour and traits. This was a great opportunity to learn more about the company culture and how you fit in with FreshBooks. Everyone was super kind and supportive. The next round was a technical interview with two other members of the Data Engineering team. We discussed a bit about my experience and past projects going into some technical details and design choices. We then reviewed the coding challenge I did and talked some hypotheticals if more requirements were added to the questions. This round was a lot of fun getting to know the Data Engineering team who were very friendly and communicative throughout the process. The next round was an interview with the Director of Engineering at FreshBooks. We talked a bit about my past roles and experiences as well as the outlook of FreshBooks and the Data department. We also discussed my style and behaviour, what motivates and interests me. This was a really great interview and I felt I aligned really well with the company culture. The final round was with a cofounder of the company and it was a short informal talk about FreshBooks. We talked about the company and it's goals as an organization as well as some personal chats about ourselves. This was a really enjoyable conversation that really cemented my sentiment towards FreshBooks. Great experience overall. Everyone was extremely professional and friendly at the same time. .
