      If this review stops one person from joining this company, it will have been worth it Review: As a recruiter myself, I rarely leave negative reviews but this was genuinely the most poorly handled recruitment process I’ve ever encountered. The process involved multiple stages including interviews and reference checks. I was eventually rejected after the police check stage where the third party screening provider flagged the need for additional verification due to my British passport. Despite this being a common and easily resolvable scenario, the company cited “lack of attention to detail” as the reason for my rejection, a conclusion that was not only factually incorrect but deeply misleading. Additionally, I was required to submit references. One referee followed their company policy and only provided dates of employment as per legal guidelines, and I was not offered the chance to submit an alternative reference. Ironically, this was a role within the People and Culture team, which makes the experience even more disappointing. In hindsight, it’s hard not to wonder if I was too aware of the very issues they are unwilling to confront. When I raised my concerns with the General Manager of AU and NZ, they stood by the decision without addressing the inconsistencies or offering any resolution. In my view this speaks to a broader culture of inflexibility, poor communication and a lack of candidate respect. I would genuinely prefer to remain unemployed than work in a company that treats people this way. Advice to candidates: Proceed with caution. If you value transparency, professionalism and fairness in your recruitment experience this may not be the right environment.
