      Entrevista

      They will ask you to complete a 30-minute "on demand" interview, telling you several times that "we don't believe in long waits" and that you will hear back within 48 hours of completing your interview. Then, they will go radio silent and you won't hear a word back even if you are well qualified for the job. Of course everyone is busy, but they seem to go out of their way to promise candidates a fast turnaround time only to leave them hanging without a word. They set an unnecessarily high standard and don't even attempt to deliver on it. Shows a lack of respect for the candidate's time.

      Entrevista

      I applied online, via Linkedin. Then I got a phone call where the project was presented to me and the conditions offered. We then scheduled an interview via Teams with 4 different people: the HR that had called me (the recruiter, who worked in Lisbon), the HR Manager, and 2 HR Coordinators (from Porto, the office I was applying to). After a brief introduction about the company, HR department's structure, and the job position, I was asked 3 sets of questions (I'll share below). A part of the interview was conducted in English, as we would be using both Portuguese and English on the job. In the end, they said they would give feedback within a week and the next interview would be at the office, in Porto.

      I was presented with different case scenarios: How would you react if a worker comes in complaining about issues on his salary? / What would you say to de-escalate the situation? What would you do if both you and a colleague had booked a week's vacation for the same time and only one of you would be able to go?

      I was asked multiple legal questions: How many vacation days a worker is entitled to in case x, y, and z. How many days of warning must the company give to an employee before ending the work contract in case x, y, and z.
