Unfortunately this was the most harrowing and exhausting interview process I have ever been through. I wouldn't wish it upon any other applicant and that is why I am writing this review.
It started out great - after speaking to a recruiter on the phone I was really fired up because I felt incredibly passionate about the mission. I have been wanting to make the transition into the healthcare tech space for a while and I loved that Forward is trying to rebuild the system from the ground up, rather than work inside of it. I went onsite to speak with one of the engineers and after this I was invited to an onsite technical interview. I got a phone call a day after that, saying that I had passed the technical portion... and that's when things started getting funky. A few days after, I got a call from my recruiter saying that though I'd passed the technical portion, the CEO didn't feel comfortable meeting with me yet because a particular tech test hadn't been administered. I'd therefore have to come back for another 1-hour technical assessment. I found this to be incredibly unprofessional, as I'd already come onsite twice (and subsequently had to miss work twice). I didn't understand why they couldn't administer a test through a video call since it was their mistake. However, I really wanted the role so I agreed to change my travel plans for the holidays so that I could come in again that following week. Once again, I passed the technical assessment.
Now this is where things got really bad. At this point I'd already been interviewing with the company for 8 weeks. I came in a FOURTH time for an onsite interview, this time with the CEO. The interview immediately went sour when I told him that I'm interviewing with other companies. He began to question my intentions and insisted that I shouldn't be interviewing with companies that aren't trying to help the world if that's what I really want to do with my life. Since I'm pretty fresh in my career I was really taken aback. I tried to explain to him that though I'd love to work somewhere with a mission I'm completely aligned with, I knew I'd need a backup plan in case those opportunities don't work out. He didn't accept that. Later he told me that something I'd said "made him want to throw up in his mouth" and that the year and a half I'd spend at my previous company was "ultimately a failure." He made a snap judgement about me from the first two minutes of our conversation about me and I just couldn't recover. Nothing I said after was good enough. I'd put so much effort into interviewing with Forward and I felt like I never stood a chance after he gathered his first impression of me.
After this interview, I asked to withdraw my candidacy, after telling HR what happened. I had a horrible feeling in my gut about working for someone who allegedly wants to help people but was able to berate me so easily in conversation. I spoke to their head of people and she was very understanding. She listened to me and promised she would do all she could so that this doesn't happen again. I hope that's true because everyone else I spoke to at Forward I absolutely loved. However, after reading some other reviews here, it doesn't look like I'm the first one who has had this experience...

Great! Focused system design + average leetcode questions. Behavioral interview was very nice and straightforward. Systems design interview include building a scribe tool for doctors to use. Was more a paired session with the interviewer.

It was pretty normal as far as interviews in tech go for entry level engineers. It felt like they were spending more time selling me on their product than on questioning me. Some standard Leetcode style question.

Something about the minimum travel distance on a keyboard grid.

Medium difficulty. Interviewed before the company abruptly shut down. Like the team, did not get many specifics about the business, particularly regarding the care pods. It was a few phone screens and then onsite.
