The interview process was not what I expected and left a negative impression overall. It was described as collaborative, but it felt more adversarial in tone. Vague and Disconnected Questions: Many questions were broad or unclear, with little follow-up or clarification. It felt like the interviewers had specific answers in mind but didn’t communicate that clearly. There was a disconnect between the hypothetical scenarios they presented and the code they were referencing. Dismissive and Inflexible: Some technical explanations seemed to be misunderstood or brushed aside, rather than explored in depth. There was little interest in discussing alternative implementations or design choices. Minimal Engagement: The overall demeanor was flat and unresponsive. Questions I asked at the end of the interview received vague and short answers, and even after a follow-up, I struggled to get specifics about what the team is working on. It was obvious they had already made their decision. Inability to Showcase Work Fully: The discussion focused heavily on minor technical details, which left little room to walk through broader systems or design decisions. As a result, important parts of the project weren’t covered at all. The questions they asked did not allow me to showcase my experience.
