First interview went great, then they said the next step was to do a take-home assignment - Propose a feature that will drive increased app engagement on Trashie. (they don't have a mobile app currently but want to add one). I designed and laid out a fantastic app idea, sent it in, and then was ghosted. They finally responded and said they had to pause on hiring for internal reasons. Months later they posted a similar job and wouldn't reply to me at all. Clearly they were just harvesting for ideas. If they do this with 10 people, they'd have their whole mobile app designed and laid out without having to pay a dime. Dishonest and... ironically... Trashie. What a crappy way to treat people who are genuinely interested in working for you.
