      Entrevista

Nightmare interview process for a few reasons. Biggest one, they surprise you by having about 15-20 people from departments interview you in a panel. During this particular interview, we were called up with very short notice and told we would be doing a group interview, but that was it. The interviewers and I bonded over the experience and I’m in touch with a few of them. The 1st Round interview had us team up with other candidates and lead projects for 2-5 minutes then present what we made, while being judged by this uselessly huge committee. 2nd round happened about a week later and had us individually interview after working on a take home assignment, then presenting our portfolio (this part was not shared ahead of time). I was given around of questions from each off the many interviewers. When it was my turn to ask her how big the scope of the position was giving to comparisons, the person who would be my direct boss, laughed and said both dismissively. Hugely unprofessional given that I did an assignment for this interview unpaid. Afterwards, her marketing subordinate said something rude under his breath after I said I enjoyed the experience. I didn’t, but was trying to be polite. Their final interview took awhile for them to get back to, they said it would take about a week but they called us about a month later to say we didn’t get the job. From texts, they left most of the interviewees hanging. Last thing, we were interviewed against the person who had the position previously. We found this out right when we were waiting, and was a huge shock to all of us. The whole process took a lot of time and humiliation to go through and most of us felt that we were just fodder for her to ace the interview. The 15-20 person panel was excruciating and the only time I’ve ever really felt panicked going into an interview. They should warn people about that. The lack of description for what the interview process would entail was also really not great, I felt unprepared for parts of it and it was hard to go through with it. Make sure to ask a lot of questions about the job, prepare to present multiple times if it ever opens up, they didn’t know what they were looking for in the position and struggled to define the role. Honestly, felt like I dodged a bullet. Go apply for Metro instead.
