Entrevista
It was an initial screening for a FT office job. It was a complete waste of my time. The hiring manager started by saying they had my resume in front of them. Cool. They asked me to tell them my work history so I did—no big deal. The manager then begins to ask “Do you have experience with X?” I said no. They then asked another “Have you done X?” I said no. Final question was another thing I have not done. At this point, I’m super uncomfortable. Then they said “The person in this position really needs experience in these areas.” Nothing in my resume points to or even indicates I was versed in those areas. If they knew they wanted those specific skills they should not have wasted my time!!! I did have all of the other skills required, which is why I applied. I was appalled because at the end of the day, you could have bypassed my application. Please do better. The job market is hard enough in 2024. Don’t waste people’s time. It’s rude.

I went through a lengthy and thorough interview process, including two phone interviews and a 4+ hour in-person interview with four different people. I had to spend an hour creating a writing sample from scratch based on their question. The people I talked with all seemed very enthusiastic about my background and experience, but they did not offer me the job and the reason they cited didn't make sense based on what they told me about the position.
