I initially received an email to connect with the hiring manager, and he followed up by sending a trial work assignment. I dedicated over three hours to completing the task and promptly submitted it. However, I was disappointed by receiving a generic rejection email instead of a more personal response. I had also requested specific feedback on how I could improve, but did not receive a reply.
While I understand that trial projects are part of the hiring process, I believe more respect for candidates' time is needed, especially when significant effort is invested. Additionally, I felt the trial project was not aligned with my level of experience, which made it feel less relevant to the role I was applying for.
I hope that future candidates are mindful of their value and approach such projects with caution, particularly if their experience significantly exceeds the requirements.
