Complete waste of time. This was not a direct interview for the position but rather an 'informative interview', which I understand is part of the process sometimes with staffing agencies but the way they pitched it over the phone was highly deceptive. After filling out tedious forms for 20 minutes, I finally sat with someone who was not only condescending but rude when dismissing my qualifications. In fact, she didn't even have the decency to say that I would not be considered for the role. Instead she tried having me register in their system for future opportunities and I had to inquire further to learn I was being denied further consideration. It is likely they discriminated against me because when asked about a job gap I had to address an injury I sustained last year. Also this interview was not even held privately, an older coworker was doing work in the very same room and had to step in when I debated that I was not underqualified. She attempted to do damage control and was more professional, but foolishly stated they would have to train me for the role which makes no sense as the staffing agancy does not involve themselves in these steps. There are plenty of other staffing agencies that are more honest and sincere about the process, Express simply tries to help themselves by registering as many candidates in their 'system' as possible so they can chuck them irrelevant roles. Maybe next time they should do THEIR job and thoroughly assess someone's qualifications before bringing them in for an interview.
