Possibly the wildest and the most disrespectful interview process I've ever had in my life. A month of my life completely wasted.
I got put through an insane five stage interview process for a role which on paper, was very much aligned with my experience and profile. The interviews went really well and I felt like I had built up a good rapport with every person who interviewed me - throughout the process, the people who interviewed me kept reinforcing what a great fit I was for the role, how my experience aligned well what the role entailed (although what it was will forever remain a mystery to me because it felt like each interviewer had a completely different understanding of the role haha - very disorganised).
By the time I had finished my last interview, the final interviewer was basically talking to me as if I've already been hired and will be starting shortly. It was all very encouraging and I was very much convinced that I got the job.
Imagine my shock two days later when I get an AUTOMATIC REJECTION EMAIL from HR. I sincerely thought it was a mistake for the first few minutes. All of my subsequent attempts to get any feedback from HR did not amount to much. My emails were ignored. I managed to schedule a feedback call eventually with the HR manager and she did not turn up to the call. Eventually she sent me a rather rude email asking me to schedule another time. Finally after weeks of trying, I managed to get her to join a ten minute call with me where she unashamedly admitted that there was nothing wrong with my experience or interviewing, but they instead decided to go with someone who used to work for one of their competitors. :/
So basically, moral of the story, if you don't work for one of their direct competitors, don't bother applying I guess. What a shockingly disappointing experience.
