      Entrevista

      I applied for this role in Ho Chi Minh city in April 2016. The entire process took about 5 weeks, give and take. I came across this job post on Glassdoor, applied on Expedia Inc website and was contacted 2 weeks later. I went through a total of 5 rounds. Round 1 - Phone Screening: an HR recruiter called and went through some basic questions about my educational background, why I want to work for Expedia, my past work experience and why I left the past positions. She explained to me what this role is about and the teams I will be supporting. Round 2 - Online test: I was scheduled for an online test. It basically is to test your attention to details, and I assume English skill as well. The test is fairly basic, some of the questions are about hospitality terminologies, nothing complicated, just around hotel amenities, facilities. There was the last part where it requires you to write up a little passage to promote for hotel based on given facts... A week later, I got an email and learned that I was going to the next round. Though curious, I never knew how much I got on the test though. Round 3 - Phone interview with Senior Lodging Content Associate: This interview lasted about 30 minutes, she went through a set of behavioral questions, and test your understandings on this roles (read the JD over and over again. There was a video on Vimeo created by a LCA based in Sydney recorded her daily works as an LCA, I found it extremely helpful). I recited what was written in the JD in the short, concise few sentences. The purpose of this round is to see if you how you did your homework, how you fit in the team, your communication skills. A few days later, I got scheduled to 2 more in person interviews with hiring manager and a local market manager. Round 4 - Face to face interview with hiring manager: I was scheduled to come in the office and interviewed by the hiring manager who will also be my immediate manager. The set of questions are pretty much the same as the last round. I think the main purpose of having me onsite is to see my interactions, professionalism and attitude. Some questions are about my strength, weaknesses, creativity, how I prioritize tasks, whether or not I'm a team player, and comfortable to collaborate with other teams... Overall, the set of questions is no surprise to me, as they are pretty similar to the previous rounds, but take this chance to leave a good impressions on your hiring manager. I was lucky that she created rooms for me to make conversations out of the Q&A interview. Round 5 - Interview with Market Manager: This interview is conducted in Vietnamese. This is to see if I can speak fluently local language, and whether the team I was going to work with and support closely find me the right fit. It lasted about less than 30 minutes. This is the easiest interview of all in my experience. About 2 weeks later, the HR recruiter from the 1st round contacted me with the good news. For every round, prepare yourself with at least 3-4 questions (pertaining to the works you will be doing), look up on Linkedin who you will be interviewing with. I think I passed the interview simply because I did my research, loads of it from Glassdoor, Expedia inc website, and google searches, carry myself with confidence and the rest will follow.

      4 rounds interview process. I feel like the interview process is relatively the same with any other company out there. First round was online interview, then phone interview, in market interview, finally another online interview.

      Invited for a phone interview, was told to choose a time between 7AM-3PM. I told them 7AM on a Tuesday, which would leave me enough time to get ready and go to my current job, which ends after 3PM. Never received a phone call. It has been over 36hrs since I sent them a follow-up e-mail. Very discouraging!

      L'entretien d'embauche chez Expedia Group, France - etait tres professionnel, sincère et l'ambiance était plutôt détendue. Le recruteur (e) etait à l'écoute du postulant. Questions pertinentes et faciles quand on a confiance en ses compétences.
