Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 2 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Executive Management Group (New York, NY) en ene 2016

      Entrevista

First of all, the job post in general was very misleading. They were hiring for "Assistant managers" which, in turn, seemed intriguing as I researched a little bit more about the company and realized that they specialize in "brand marketing" and "client retention"--so maybe a MARKETING assistant manager is the job I'm applying for? Which was exactly what I was job hunting for in the first place. Went ahead and applied, was reached out to by their HR manager after a day or two wanting to schedule an interview at one of their offices. My interview was scheduled at 10AM, I arrived at their office at 9:15AM and checked in with their receptionist. I waited for a very long time...was not interviewed until about 10:30AM, by which time their ACTUAL 10:30AM interviewee had already arrived and was waiting in the lobby as well. The interview was pretty straight forward. I was interviewed by a manager and a "corporate trainee", and they mainly asked what my career goals were, what my experience looked like, and why I applied. They said that the interview was as much for me asking THEM questions as it was for them asking me questions. No questions regarding circumstances or scenarios; it was mainly regarding what I'm looking for. What I did not realize, however, was that I was actually interviewing for a SALESPERSON position. A salesperson selling DirectTV at Costco. Which was NOT what their job post even HINTED at, nor was it remotely close to "ASSISTANT MANAGER--FULL TIME MANAGER TRAINING." They pride themselves on promoting within--which is wonderful because they do promote their salespeople to eventually become corporate trainees, and then eventually become an assistant manager, and then eventually become a manager/run your own office. But being a DirectTV salesperson was NOT specified at all whatsoever in their job post on Indeed, LinkedIn, etc. They invited me right then and there to come back for a second interview. They gave me the option of sitting down one on one with another hiring manager, or coming to one of their morning team meetings so they can observe how you do in their team environment. I chose the team meeting. Which was pretty interesting. Their team of 10+ salespeople all crammed into one tiny room to practice their sales speeches with each other. The team members were very friendly and easy to talk to. They all seemed pretty bought onto the whole selling DirectTV thing. One of the managers explained how you get $120 for every DirectTV installation you made, which is on top of your $12 an hour. Was offered the job in person after that team meeting.
