After a first stage interview the recruiter sent me an appraisal where she wanted a sales strategy document, along with a short video. they said it should take 20 minutes, but as any proper sales professional knows a reasonable strategy doc is going to take far far longer than that.
I sent over a very professional document, and video.
and I haven't heard from them since. I followed up professionally in ways that prove sales skill further too (i.e. asking if they wanted another video showing a different aspect of sales, rather than just badgering for feedback).
In the end I just asked them directly for feedback, and still, the ghosting continued.
They use a well known professional Applicant Tracking System too, and one that I've used personally. There is no chance that emails could be getting lost in the mix. They simply can't be bothered.
I don't mind a rejection. Sometimes people just have a different vision to what they perceive you offering. And my opinion when I saw their assessment is that the questions showed they weren't quite experienced enough at sales themselves to hire well for this position. But to ask someone to spend hours on documentation for you, and then to never reply after you've received it is shockingly poor behaviour.
Companies that do this often also have an awful work culture too as they are only in it for themselves. So I should say, I've dodged a bullet I'm sure! I would not advise anyone to waste their time with this process.
Note: I've had to select "average" difficulty below as who knows how difficult it is? Everything I came across seemed simple, if time consuming, and things I've succeeded at countless times before. But I got ghosted. That's not difficult as such, it's just obstructive.
