I applied to Gartner/Evanta through LinkedIn and was contacted by a Gartner recruiter for the role. I had a straightforward screening interview where the recruiter told me more about the company and the team I could potentially be working on. I was then asked a few questions such as "how have you dealt with a difficult colleague" and "how do I prioritise my work". There weren't many questions that she asked.
I was then contacted about a second interview with the Senior Art Director who came across as a straight-up guy who gets straight to the point and is honest. He seemed experienced and we discussed the role at the company. We then went on to my portfolio where he had already gone through it and wanted me to walk him through the process of designing the websites/prints.
2 weeks later I was contacted by the recruiter to have a phone call. I was simply told that I did not have enough experience for the role and that they required someone with 2-4 years of experience when the job description specified 1-2 years. Essentially, wasting my time in having applied in the first place. There was also no other feedback that I could work on. For a company that take pride in giving feedback, I was quite disappointed, especially as I had gone out of my way to ask for feedback.
