Pretty easy to be honest. Most of the lead dev at that time were people of my school that directly contacted me and other high-gpa student of my school to propose us an opportunity. The rest of the process was mostly determining what you were interested in to see if there was a match with the several available projects. I did not really had to pass any technical interview.
