      Entrevista

      There wasn’t really much of an interview process The entire thing was incredibly unstructured. I walked in to about 6 people crowded at a table on laptops filling out applications, and about 4 others ahead of me waiting to be interviewed. I was interviewed by one girl who didn’t even ask me any questions, but instead rambled about the position and job description/duties. She also waved the pay rate in my face: “If you like money there’s plenty of opportunities for overtime.” It rubbed me the wrong way and gave off the impression that money was all they cared about or maybe they were trying to reel me in with the pay rate to compensate for their poorly run business. Meanwhile, as she was interviewing me, her manager Jovana walked into the room and left the door wide open and I could hear everyone outside talking and laughing loudly which was incredibly distracting. When I asked if I could shut the door the girl speaking to me made a joke about how, “Jovana doesn’t know how to close doors.” She talked to me for about five minutes before their manager/supervisor Jovana came into the room for the second half of the interview. This part of the “interview” was just Jovana telling me about all the risks involved in working with the people served with developmental disabilities/mental health disorders/etc. She asked for my history and I went over 4 years of relevant experience, highlighting my experience with assaultive/verbally aggressive individuals with similar mental health and behavioral issues as the ones she had mentioned before. However, she disregarded this and almost condescendingly stated that people would come in to interview and would claim they could handle the unpredictability but would then back out, which gave me the impression that my experience held little to no value to her. She then asked if I had time to fill out an application today, which I said yes. However, when joining the folks at the table I mentioned at the beginning of this review, there were no available laptops and my peers seemed to be pretty clueless (but I chalked it up to the fact that they were all probably just as stunned as I was about how easy, unstructured, and fast tracked the whole process was). I lied and said I had to step out and I booted outta there without another word. Definitely glad that I didn’t waste any more time to complete an application and go through the onboarding process just to leave in less than a couple months. I have a feeling their turnover rate is insane, hence why they seem to conduct a lackluster interview and immediately jump to applying/hiring. They just need bodies.
