They are simply trying to fill gopher positions. There is flexibility in the scheduling but for a minimum wage position there had better be. All management I was exposed to were very young,ambitious and completely devoted to long workweeks( 60+ hours). There seemed to be an expectancy of the same devotion even at poverty level wages.
