      Entrevista

I applied to a position through LinkedIn and received a call the following day from one of their recruiters. We talked for about 20 minutes about my education, work experience and future plans. She asked for my GMAT score, which was not on my resume. She also asked me a "case study" question about what factors I would consider if loan defaults suddenly rose. After this, she said she'd talk to some of the managers and try and set up a phone interview for me. The next interview was a 45 minute phone interview, which went over some of the same things as before, but I was also asked behavioral type questions and had another case study (given number of loans, default rate, interest rate, principal amount and asked if this was profitable or not). After this, I got to ask a few questions about the company. A few days later, I was invited to their office to speak to some of their managers. The first person I spoke to was the same person that interviewed me on the phone, and it consisted of more case studies. She was cheerful, nice and pointed out if my answers were missing anything. The second person I spoke to was a bit different. He didn't seem to want to be there at all, and was rushing through most of the questions. His case study questions were a bit harder and vague, though he helped me through a couple of answers that needed refining. The final interviewer basically talked to me for 20 minutes; no case studies, just about my past and what I want to do in the future. It's been a few weeks, so I'm assuming I didn't get an offer, which to be honest, is fine with me. The payday loan business is not something I want to be part of, and I know about this until after I submitted my resume (probably a mistake). Also, everyone I talked to at Enova had some way of justifying that what they do is acceptable. I'm not saying it isn't acceptable, but why justify something, unless you question it yourself? I also thought they didn't care too much about me as a person, but rather if I could deliver results. To be fair though, it looked like a pretty cool place to work, with lots of young, bright people. If you can get past their industry, it might be a rewarding career and a good place to work.

I really wish I had pleasant things to say about the interview process at Enova, but unfortunately I was very displeased with how the interviews were conducted. I had a first round via the phone with a Senior Recruiter that went well, but was surprised it involved a case study right from the get go. Thankfully I had done practice case studies prior to the interview, but was still surprised. I made it to the second round that was with the hiring manager where I was told this round would focus on learning my work environment behavior and skill set for the role. They highlighted this would allow me ample time to ask detailed questions about the role and department. The interview began roughly six minutes late due to the hiring manager's tardiness. He did not seem interested in learning about my experience, but rather took the time to review a second case study. I will highlight neither interview explained I would be doing a case study prior to the interview so I was shocked yet again. The hiring manager asked questions very specific to their business, rather than asking questions that would reflect problem solving skills. He offered about five minutes for me to ask questions where he provided little clarity on the company's culture and values. The interview ended and I was relieved to be done talking to him. If I had been advanced to the next rounds in person, I would have declined simply because I could not work with someone who did not have any sort of vested interest in learning more about the candidates. I read through other interview reviews and it seems this is probably the same person.

Interview process was very in depth, which I appreciated. Good questions that were very analytic. Overall, I had a good feeling about the company and position. One negative is that the interview was very time consuming and should have been broken up into smaller parts. I also felt it was pretty insulting that after taking so much time (including PTO from my current job) to interview, I wasn’t even given the courtesy of a rejection. I was just ghosted

Started with a pleasant conversation with the recruiting manager for the role who was very nice, easy to speak to, and insightful. The process quickly moved to a half day interview with the S&O team. I’ve been on both sides of the interview process and have never had such an uncomfortable experience. The manager round gave no valuable insight and essentially asked the same question over and over with no clear direction. Then what was scheduled as a 15 min wrap up call turned into opening with quizzing me on if I’m comfortable working in the subprime market and ending with a surprise math quiz. I left the interview feeling uneasy and unmotivated to continue. I would not recommend the team nor company, best of luck to the recruiting team.
