Initial communication from HR was good.
First phone screen seemed to go well and was very casual - more like a basic meet and greet conversation.
Second phone screen was at 9:30pm and with a manager in China where communication was difficult.
Follow up is where ESI really drops the ball. Took multiple attempts to get any feedback or response on the status. Last attempt for feedback (positive or negative) yielded a prompt ‘Dear John’ form letter.
This lackadaisical response from employers is what leaves a lasting negative perception with candidates. As a potential employer, if you demand respect, be prepared to reciprocate. Social media is a powerful tool and with the robust job market, you cannot afford negative press when you are trying to staff up.
