I interviewed for a position as an elementary special education inclusion teacher. I was asked the standard interview questions for a teaching position. The interview was very stuffy and informal and more like an interrogation rather than a conversation. I was told right up front that they were screening candidates and would perform extensive background checks. The interview was conducted by a supervisor and a principal. They asked a lot of follow-up questions regarding your answers and resume. I would suggest they do their screening interviews over the phone or since the districts makes accolades about their use of technology using video chat. Anyway, the days prior to the interview I had a few other districts offer me positions with their schools and were good fits. I was really interviewing them more than they were interviewing me. I was asked to bring my resume and a copy of a lesson plan to the interview. The interview went well until the end. They misunderstood an answer I gave and did not let me clarify my response. Instead, they ended the interview abruptly and kicked me out of the school. The principal sarcastically thanked me for my time and gas to get to his school. He was very rude and unprofessional.
