The interview process for the Business Analyst position at EXL SERVICES consisted of three rounds: 1. Written Test 2. Technical Interview 3. HR Round. Based on insights from previous candidates, the company seemed to focus on specific topics: Programming and OOP Concepts: Basic C/C++ programming and understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles. SQL Basics: Emphasis on SQL queries, particularly JOIN operations. Guesstimates: An evaluation of problem-solving approaches rather than exact answers. Puzzles: Solving easy to moderately difficult puzzles to assess fundamental problem-solving skills. Python or Data Science Projects: Highlighting projects related to Python or data science for a competitive edge. Given my background in electrical engineering, I didn't have extensive knowledge in these areas. To prepare, I relied on condensed video crash courses, such as "Python in 1 Video" and "SQL in One Video," and sought insights into data science through YouTube tutorials. I practiced puzzles from GeeksforGeeks and familiarized myself with the basics needed for guesstimate questions.

The Written Test comprised three sections: English Usage (10 questions) Analytical Reasoning (10 questions) Quantitative Aptitude (20 questions) Technical Interview Questions: Elaborate on the Python project mentioned in your CV. Explain fundamental data science concepts like neural networks and RNNs. Describe various types of SQL JOINs, ORDER BY, and GROUP BY clauses. Explain sorting in ascending and descending order in SQL. Solve Puzzle 1: Socks Puzzle. Solve Puzzle 2: 3 Bulbs and 3 Switches Puzzle. HR Round Questions: Can you share your experience during the recruitment process? Tell us about your skills in computer science and electrical engineering. What are your expectations from the job role? What kind of work do you anticipate being assigned to you? Do you have any questions for us?
Moderate interview process with theory based and practical based, you will have to show on screen and client rounds are there
And they can take Upto 7 rounds of interview
They had two process, after telephonic discussion with HR. One virtual technical then another with VP face to face. They typically asked about BA, scrum, project handling, and your role
Online Assessment followed by two rounds of interview. One technical and second is managerial round. The interview was for 45min each. Both rounds were on the same day. It was based on sql, puzzle, reasoning, technical, project discussion.
