Entrevista
There were red flags showing before setting foot into the interview room. I should have been suspicious when I got a reminder the day before interview suddenly stating ‘first’ interview, if it had been a series I may have reconsidered before wasting any time further. Interview itself a sham, on arrival asking for the person quoted in the confirmation they weren’t ever conducting the interview. For the first time ever it felt and looked like someone was interviewing me completely blind as to my career history. One competency based question as opposed to the many scenario’s questions just thrown at me after it was clear I was confused why does the job description mention driving and a need to drive. It later came out whilst this is an office based role they do expect you to travel to other hubs/locations. Then came up my notice period is one month which they seemed surprised at myself on checking my Indeed answers they would have known this in advance and you would think any company in a regulated compliant industry wouldn’t have anyone start on an immediate start or work unvetted.
No getting to know me, during this ‘interview’ didn’t even ask where I’d travelled from/lived. I also found myself weirdly starred at by one of the interviewers when trying to answer some of the questions.
Really disappointed as I thought ECL was a great well known provider and a good reputation for looking after its staff, the job market might be dire but this was just poorly conducted, seemed disorganised and wrong impression throughout to the point of hearing I could chase the outcome myself! Probably a lucky escape as I note the office staff aren’t the carers most favourite people in other reviews and this quite possibly stems from what seems a disorganised company throughout.
