I attended the AI Engineer Internship hiring process after successfully clearing the Flowmingo assessment, the MCQ round, and the written round. Since I passed every stage, I believed I matched the requirements mentioned in the job description.
However, during the technical interview, I was asked about practical AI framework implementation. I honestly said that I have good theoretical knowledge but no hands-on AI project experience, and I was rejected almost immediately.
If practical AI experience was mandatory, it should have been clearly mentioned in the job description instead of listing it as a "Nice to Have."
I am not a local candidate. I woke up at 6:00 AM, traveled to Ahmedabad, reached on time, and stayed until around 2:30 PM without even eating anything since morning.
In the end, it honestly felt like I had gone there just to entertain the company's employees. I think I entertained them well, because after spending my entire day, that seemed to be the only outcome.
Please be transparent about mandatory requirements so candidates don't waste their time, money, and effort.
