I was recommended for the position by a friend, and my interview was telephonic, but the circumstances were exceptional. Normally recruiting agents or on-line advertisements are used to procure prospective employees, and interviews take place at the office. The interview was informal and relaxed, in the manner of 'getting to know you'. Questions pertaining my relevant work experience were asked, as well as what my expectations regarding the job were. I was given a short mock assignment to complete within a few hours, testing my abilities to report, write a precis and copy edit.
