Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en Duo Security (San Francisco, CA) en feb 2019
Entrevista
Recruiter screen was solid and insightful on multiple layers of the culture and questions asked. Response to questions was also informative.
The secondary interviewing step was very different from any other I was provided with a take home test with a set of email and customer support responses - which the hiring manager would review. The questions were open ended and intended to determine some level of written competency, potentially overall knowledge of their product, and I am assuming an exposure of personal traits - based upon the reviewers' take on someone else's style of response.
Should the responses be deemed worthy, an additional live discussion over the role and demo over the product would be scheduled. This was particularly interesting as someone who unaware of internal processes and departmental tribal knowledge.
However, I get it. It is a culture that is strong and should be protected. There must be a massive amount of candidates and so this process could easily weed out the pack who do not immediately jump out as the right fit. My only concern with this part is, if this is a high touch customer interfacing and multi-departmental collaborative position - how does one gauge interpersonal skills, customer relational support, and the parts to the whole through an electronic response evaluation?
Overall communication, scheduling and keeping abreast of phases was done well thru the recruiter.
