Company called at a predesignated time slot for a phone interview. I was then transferred by Human Resources to the technician supervisor for the interview. The technician supervisor seemed surprised, but we proceeded anyway. The interviewer scanned over my resume while l described relevant experience to the position in question. We went over skills such as soldering, troubleshooting, and prototype repairs. Some questions were designed to probe my technical knowledge as he noticed l was in school for engineering at a university. The questions that covered prototyping seemed outside the scope of the position, and meant to serve as gauges of hands on skill. It seemed the interviewer was biased against engineering students' hands on ability. The interviewer was also unable to answer technical questions about the position to the level he probed me earlier. We went over compensation after around 30 minutes into the interview. It entailed $10 per hour without any benefits through a temporary staffing agency. I was not pleased with this experience.
