Appeared straightforward per conversation with recruiter who responded to my application. Recruiter appeared to be proud of company and took pride in company’s mission. Had good conversation with recruiter and even talked about how rough job market is and especially when dealing with recruiters/companies that ghost candidates after significant time has been invested. Interviewed with hiring manager, who was unfriendly and came off pretentious. Hiring manager asked odd technical questions and when asked to elaborate, did not seem pleased but yet was unable to rephrase their question. Hiring manager wasn’t there to find a reason to hire, but rather reason to not hire (that’s how it felt). Unpleasant interview process because of the people facilitating and involved in the process. Even if candidate isn’t right fit for job, how recruiter/interviewer carry themselves says a lot about company. Followed up with recruiter a week from interview with hiring manager - recruiter ghosted and never replied/followed up.
