I applied to a position in the beginning of Nov. Beside the creative portfolio that all artists have to showcase with all our best work, I had to answer (written) questions which is totally ok that lead me to my first interview. Absolutely normal the interviews, they have to know us! After the first interview I had to do a free test task which was followed by another interview, this is kind of a normal procedure nowadays. After these 3/4 stages if we count the written questions were I was also tested, I though that I was finally knowing the results. But, I was invited to do another free task “short task” as they named it but required more time than the first one, this final round was followed-up by another interview. Final Results on Christmas Eve, who was naughty or nice? Congrats to who got it! Nowadays companies feel they have (and they do) all the power on their hands it’s not ok to see people needing jobs and asking them to invest so many time for free. How can you apply to several companies at the same time if they all have this attitude? It’s not correct. You invest on portfolio, on personal projects, on improvement, all the companies want all of that also do I,.. but at the end they always want people with more experience. The portfolio is supposed to showcase the artists skills in body of work, therefore long unpaid tedious test tasks to showcase skills seems inadequate. Also, at every interview I needed to say everything again, they didn’t exchange any information about what was said, so I felt that I was always presenting myself and already working for them because the free test tasks were company assets material which I hope they don’t use.
