      Unfair and potentially Discriminatory Recruitment Practices + Ghosting. I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with Dexcom's recruitment process, and I believe it is crucial for future candidates to be aware of my encounter. I applied for a iOS Engineer-II position and was met with what I can only describe as discriminatory and unfair treatment throughout the entire process, raising significant questions about Dexcom's integrity in hiring practices. Initially, I was informed that I was ineligible due to the absence of a work permit in hand, even though it was actively in the process. Within days of this communication, my work permit was authorized, and I promptly reached out to the recruiter again. To my shock, the criteria had inexplicably changed. This time, I was told I needed US Citizenship or a Green Card to be considered, requirements never mentioned in the job description and wholly different from what I was told earlier. After pointing out that such requirements are typically mandated for projects involving national security, which did not apply to Dexcom's products, I was allowed to proceed. IThe subsequent steps were equally disheartening. After screening call with the recruiter on Friday afternoon, I received a coding challenge with an tight deadline of Monday morning and I had limited opportunity for clarification, a red flag that hinted at a lack of consideration for candidates' challenges. Despite dedicating extensive time and effort, my submission went unreviewed, and I was abruptly rejected without any feedback. I invested reasonable amount of time and effort over weekend completing the coding challenge and submitted before the Monday morning deadline and invited Hiring Manager to review my work on Github. To my dismay, after submitting the challenge, I was ghosted for a week from the recruiter. When I followed up again on 1 week mark, I was informed that -“the hiring manager has decided to pursue other candidates he feels are slightly more aligned with the specific needs of this position”. However, my submission on Github was not even reviewed by Hiring Manager as the invitation to review the code challenge is still pending at the time of writing this review. What troubled me most was the lack of transparency and fairness in the entire process. It raises serious questions about the integrity of Dexcom's recruitment practices. As a candidate, I expected to be evaluated based on my skills and qualifications, not arbitrary and inconsistent requirements. I urge Dexcom to reevaluate its recruitment practices and ensure they align with equal opportunity standards. I am posting this review to make future candidates aware of the challenges they might face and to encourage Dexcom to provide every applicant with a fair and unbiased evaluation. Also, I emailed Global Head of Talent Attraction informing of this concerning incident and awaiting to see if they respond.
