I had a recorded screen video call to start the interview process. I have done these before and they feel impersonal and don't give you the chance to meet with anyone or ask any questions about the postion. I was invited back for the next phase of the interview which was multiple tasks that would take 3+ hours to complete. I was sent the email at 8PM on July 10th and the tasks had to be complete by 5PM on July 12th. With less than 48 hours notice, and given that I was on vacation without a computer I emailed the recruiter to rescind my application. It felt very strange to ask participants to complete a 3 hour task when I haven't even had the chance to speak with anyone at all, not even a recruiter call. The entire process felt wrong and extremely impersonal.
