Extremely humiliating interview. They were acting all nice and gooey. I went through several rounds of interviews for the role, each grilling me about my experience and fitment to the role. I am a certified HR professional with prior experience in strategic management consulting. The process was a joke- incumbments forgetting to send me links, sending delayed responses and the like. I put with all that. Prior to the last interview, I was actually told that I am a good fit to the role, and my hopes were raised enquiring about my salary expectations and the like. Post the final interview, I was given inconsistent feedback - on one hand, I was told - "we think you have a lot of strategic experinence but we feel this role is more tactical and it may not utilize your skills", and on another hand, "we need to setup for success from day 1, and otherwise it would be unfair to you". Well, it clearly shows a company grappling sans an objective process, with no know-how of the skills they need. Recruitment is simple- have a competency framework and measure it. Industry background is not as much a priority as competency-role fitment is. I am happy that I was rejected here frankly. Science dictates that a person takes a few months to peak performance in the new role, and if they expect one to have performed from day 1, I shudder to think of the pressure. The kind of amateurish approach to the process, the facade of niceness, followed by the irrelevant feedback and indifference really put-me off. These are wannabe people recruiting here.
