The posting for Senior Engineer was published online both internally and outside the company. I filled out the application, attached my resume and submitted the application., 2 weeks later I was contacted for an interview for the job. A short phone interview reviewed my qualifications and set up a date for a panel interview. The Panel interview was held a week later. I was asked about my recent college programs and senior design projects. The panel was particularly interested in my role with the team on these projects. They then asked me questions about my previous work experience. They then asked me questions about how I would have handled specific issues at that job. The end of the interview summarized what was covered and I was told that I would be contacted when a decision was made. 2 weeks later I received an offer letter for the position.
