I applied through the online Cummins career site on their company website. The application was lengthy but it ensures that you are giving necessary information to get you and your potential employer on the same page about what you want to gain from the internship experience and what they require of an intern.
The process has two phone interviews: first is with an HR representative and is an overview interview; the second is with a talent manager in the area your have designated.
I applied in December and had accepted my position in mid-February.

There was a phone interview, then an in person interview . Standard interview questions, They basically just asked me all about the common skills and requirements of the job I was applying. They weren't too difficult and actually left the interview somewhat confident.

2 rounds of interview after resume screening: one in person and second through calls. They were nice and friendly, helped you share your experiences in a calm environment, and answered my questions genuinely.

First I talked to a recruiter in the Career fair. A couple of week later I did a behavioral Interview, and then two weeks later I did two situation/behavior interview.
