They use the standard CCAT online assessment developed by Criteria to pre-screen candidates. If you don't score high enough you are automatically rejected. The test gives you only 18 seconds per question, which is brutal considering that you usually have to read a paragraph and do some basic math on paper.

This CCAT assessment has a bunch of questions that test your English vocabulary. These questions go far beyond the words that you hear in the office. A lot of words come from legalese. This was a surprise to me because I heard that Crossover uses the same hiring process in 98 countries, in which case their vocabulary requirements should be restricted to the specific job domain.
