Crisis Text Line asks about your background. It is a simple and straightforward application you start online on their website. You have to do a training that is several hours long, where you go over the basics. Then you attend a class with other students to learn with a supervisor.
Fill out form and say why you want to do it, they get back to you as soon as they have looked it over, also a personality test that is pretty straightfoward.
