Disorganized interview process. First I had a recruiter screening, then interviewed by the hiring manager and the team. Most interviews were pleasant. In one of my interviews the interviewer overlooked my 5+ years of experience and stated I have minimal experience which I found odd. After that, I could never reach the original recruiter who was in charge of this position, and had to ask another staff member to ask the recruiter my status multiple times. Throughout the process I was told I was a top candidate, then was led on for weeks about my top candidate status, decision making, etc. On my last status check (weeks after the final interview) I was told they suddenly had a referral from a senior leader so the decision wasn't made yet. I was also delaying other offers at this time and emphasized my situation constantly. Then I was ghosted. I'm guessing they went with the referral. Better communication would have been nice especially since I made clear multiple times how interested and invested I was in the position and company.

Did a questionnaire, phone interview and in person interview with several employees. Also provided samples of work and other things. Overall lengthy process and I did well however the competition for the job was extremely difficult and it did not work out.
