Had 2 rounds of phone interviews, each with 2 employees. Was invited to have a final round office interview, but wasn't available for the date they suggested. I gave a set of dates that I would be available, and asked the HR person whether any of those dates would work. I didn't hear back from her, so when I followed up a few days later, she told me that they were no longer inviting me to the office interview. This is a very rude practice, and I can glean that it's not a good place to work, unless you are ok with bureaucratic, formal, corporate office culture. I also got the vibe that they were seeking to pay as little as possible for this role, in the discussion about my current compensation and expectations. Overall this seems to be a third-rate investment management firm, based on my research about them. They may have a couple funds that have performed well over some x-year time horizon, but it's reasonable to expect when they have many funds that a couple will rank highly among peers.
