Entrevista
I am a former employee of Context but applied to the software engineering position. Talked with the hiring manager, director and COO. I have always had a good relationship with the hiring manager and director. We reminisced about old days and the current tech stack. Things went a little south when the COO took over the interview. First of all, why does the COO need to interview a simple software engineering position? Next, the guy looked like a character from the "Sopranos" with his loud Hawaiian shirt, and 2 large gaudy "signet" and gold nugget rings on both pinky fingers. Third, he walked in with an unprofessional and provocative attitude right at the start. Told me that the "owner" prefers everyone be working on site 5 days per week when the hiring manager and director told me that they, themselves and others, worked from home a couple days per week so huge contradictions there. I am also aware that they have people working in other states so this question was extremely leading. Before the COO came into the meeting the hiring manager asked me to stick around afterwards to say hello to some other former coworkers who remembered me. When I told the COO this, he told me "I think you've talked to enough people that you know here" and unceremoniously "showed me the door". I can see that sadly nothing has changed at Context, and maybe even have gotten worse at the executive level since I left. I wouldn't work for them again even if they offered my triple what I am currently asking for.

The owner prefers that people be here on site 5 days a week. Is this something that you are comfortable with?
