I had a great initial interview with the Chief of Staff, but unfortunately, my experience with the CFO was extremely disappointing. He canceled our first interview literally one minute before it was scheduled to begin. I understood—life happens—so I agreed to reschedule.
During the second attempt, he was a no-show for 15 minutes. After I sent a follow-up email, he finally joined, only to read my resume live during the interview and ask a series of yes/no questions. There was no real conversation, no engagement, and I didn’t feel respected or valued as a candidate.
For a company that claims to have a “People First” culture, this experience fell far short. Interviews are a two-way street, and at the very least, candidates deserve basic courtesy and professionalism. I withdrew my application immediately after the call, which lasted all of 13 minutes. It felt like a complete waste of time.
Straightforward the guy was nice and professional and the interview was done virtually which was convenient so no complaints. The interview only lasted half an hour which I thought was on the short side but whatever.
