      Entrevista

Not very professional or considerate. A week after applying on Indeed, I had a phone screening with the CEO. I saw the position still posted on Indeed three weeks later and reached out by email to show my continued interest. CEO replied she was still assessing her hiring needs. A full seven weeks after the phone screening, I was called in for an interview. The CEO apparently hadn't fully defined the job. She raised the possibility of my doing some work on a contract basis as a trial. She mentioned that two people had abruptly left. Apparently she was considering doing some restructuring, as the company appeared to be a relatively small operation. CEO spoke with me for about 90 minutes, from 11:30 to 1:00. Then she pulled out a paper exam and asked me to take it right there on the spot. I thought this was rather inconsiderate, as it was already far past the start of lunch time. But I wasn't going to raise objections, as I was trying to get the job. The test took about an hour. It was largely a personality inventory with some math and reasoning problems thrown in. After I finished the test, the CEO's apparent second-in-command, a director, came in to speak with me. This person said, "I didn't have a chance to read your resume," and asked me to tell her about my background and experience. Our conversation lasted about 10 minutes. The CEO had told me she'd give me an answer one way or the other. That was a promise unkept. Over the next several weeks, the job kept reappearing on Indeed. I reached out by email to say I was still interested, that I'd be amenable to doing some contract work to prove myself, and included a small work sample. She totally ghosted me. A couple of weeks went by and the job was reposted to Indeed with the tag "Urgently Hiring." Then a new job spec at a more senior level appeared on Indeed. Apparently the CEO couldn't make up her mind what level of experience she wanted. Or maybe somebody else quit? My advice is to look elsewhere rather than go through a process with someone who can't make up her mind and doesn't keep her word.
