I applied for a job listing on their website. A few months later, I got an email from HR to set up a phone interview. After calls with several people, I was asked to come to the office, where I spent an entire afternoon interviewing with numerous high-level people. Everyone was very pleasant and they seemed eager to speak with me.
At the end of the day, HR told me I would be moving forward. However, HR never got in touch about next steps nor responded to my follow-ups. Months after my interview, I still haven't even received a rejection (the reason I gave an overall negative experience).

Most of the interview questions were not questions per se but more of the "We need someone to do X" variety.

Straight forward and informative. Good process with feedback and follow through. Many different rounds. The whole process was about 2 months with traditional HR initial screening. I was required to meet with panel and demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter in question. Everyone was both polite and professional.

The process was pretty organized. The assigned HR specialist was responsive throughout the process. The process consisted of an HR screening/interview, followed by hiring manager manager interview concluding with a panel interview + performance task and written task.

I received an email from the internal HR recruiter to set up a phone interview. I set up a time on her calendar and received a confirmation email. She did not show up to the interview. I emailed 5 minutes in and no response until the next day. She apologized saying that she was out of office the day of my interview. No big deal, I thought (in the back of my mind thinking: "how do you just take off and not cancel/reschedule your appointments?"). I booked another interview. Again, she did not show up. This time she emailed me 20 minutes before the interview saying she was double-booked and that she needed to reschedule. She asked for my availability. I told her to send me the link to her calendar so I could book another time. She never responded to that email. I found the link to her calendar and booked another time. I got an automatically-generated confirmation. She again did not show up to the interview. I scheduled another one. Still, another no-show. No responses to any emails. No respect given. Complete waste of time and I feel powerless because there's nothing I can do about this. And I really wanted to work at the College Board!
I interviewed with the College Board a few years ago and got to the final round interview. Nothing about that process was particularly bad; I felt respected the whole time through and thought that all interviewers acted in good faith. I didn't get an offer, but I also didn't feel screwed over or that my time was wasted.
This time, however, was different. Strangely, I'm super-qualified for the position and would likely have progressed far in the interview process. But I guess we'll never know now. I don't have a beef with College Board but rather with this particular HR recruiter (unfortunately I can't use her name in this review) and the fact that she doesn't show up to interviews or send emails back. I wonder: how does this person have a job? Horrific, frustrating experience.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience interviewing with us. We apologize for the lack of communication you had and it is unacceptable. We are grateful that you have brought it to our attention. We’re working to improve our interview process and your feedback helps us do that.
