Interview process was about 3 weeks, I had 5 rounds of interviews. The HR guy was super communicative after every interview, and once I got moved onto the final round, he basically told me to "keep doing what I'm doing, and if all goes well, which I think it will, we'll move you onto the offer stage". The final interview, did in fact go well. One of the people from that interview even sent me a follow up email confirming that it was great to meet me and "very much enjoyed our convo". The HR guy told me he told me he would call me after my interview, or the next day. I never got a call from him, I followed up with him a couple days later and he ignored my call, and also ignored my email. I followed up a week later (2 weeks after the interview) through email, and he conveniently told me "he just found out that they hired someone else....". From what I see, he was planning on ghosting me until I followed up multiple times.
I felt so disrespected that he went out of his way to basically tell me that I got the job before my final interview, then completely ghosted me and suddenly tells me he "just found out" immediately after I emailed him. I hope no one else ever has to go through this. He made me feel so confident that they were going to hire me.
