Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Colgate-Palmolive en jul 2022

      Entrevista

I was contacted by a recruiter from a third party agency. Four days later, I had an interview with the hiring manager where they talked about their background, my background and the position I was interviewing for. There were a handful of behavioral questions but the conversation flowed very well and the overall interview felt laid-back. At the end of the interview, they informed me that they wanted me to have a follow-up conversation with a cross-functional team leader. A few hours after my interview with the hiring manager, an HR rep from Colgate emailed me saying that my next interview would be two days later (on a Friday before a holiday weekend) and gave me two options for potential interview times. I could not make one of the times because of a conflict with my current employer, so I ended up having to meet with the next interviewer at 5pm. I was on a family vacation at the time, but I really enjoyed the conversation with the hiring manager and wanted the position so I decided to be flexible and take the 5pm time. The tone of the next interview was the complete opposite of what I experienced when speaking with the hiring manager. The interviewer (despite having over a decades worth of experience with the company) gave a one minute introduction and did not take the time to explain how our teams would interact. He immediately jumped to behavioral questions and most of which were already asked in the previous round. This led me to believe they did not share notes with the hiring manager before speaking with me. The cadence for the remainder of the interview basically consisted of the interviewer asking me a question, me answering to the best of my ability and the interviewer telling me that I was not being detailed enough. This went on for nearly ~50 minutes, despite me getting into excruciating detail about my answers. At one point when I was asked about my proudest accomplishments, the interviewer sighed and asked, 'So, is that it?" In my opinion, there's an amicable and respectful way to guide someone through an interview when you want to hear about specifics in their past experiences. I initially thought the second interviewer was trying to rattle me and see how I performed under pressure, but I no longer think that was the case. I was more than willing to make myself available for a second round interview while on a family vacation and it felt like there was a total lack of respect and appreciation on the interviewers end. I also believe that scheduling a 5pm interview on a Friday before a holiday says a lot about a person's/company's morals and values. I still haven't heard back regarding if I got the job or not, but it's safe to assume that's a no.
