I applied online for the position and was contacted the very next day by the recruiter for 1st phone screen. My 1st phone scree was with the Hiring Manager (which was kinda different from other places where the 1st conversation is with the recruiter). However, I preferred this approach as I got first hand opportunity to understand from the Hiring Manager the skills that were required. Based on our discussion, the conversation steered to another position within the same team where the Hiring Manager felt my skill-set may be a better fit. The opportunity looked great and I was happy to continue the discussion forward.
I had another phone screen with a colleague followed by a write-up, followed by two on-sites (each 2-3 hour long, with 30min long 1-1 with 3-4 people across the cross-functional team). The second on-site included lunch with team members and I also had to present/ discuss my approach for a real biz-case problem that was shared 2 days earlier. Post this, I had 2 more phone interviews including the last one with the CEO and Founder of Cloudflare. I had great experience in all my interviews and all my interviewers were friendly, on-time, professional and seemed genuinely happy to be at Cloudflare. I received an offer 2 days post my last interview with the CEO and gladly accepted the same.

Hiring Manager, HR, Panel, VP and above, and founder. It literally took 2 months to get back to say I didn't get the job even though they led you to believe you were still in the game of getting the job. It was not the best interview process. They use the STAR process, the mock presentation was interesting but honestly no one really listens to you. You can tell with the questions they ask afterwards. Im pretty sure I did really well but it is what it was. Not impressed with the entire process, they don't really get to know you or your skill set. You need to be a good actor for this company in order to get in is my guess. TWO month process was so ridiculous oh and in the end you get a generic email not even personalized that you didn't get the job even though they say please reach out and you follow up professionally. Not cool

Very long process with a first call with the recruiting team , followed by a call with the hiring manager and calls with the sales and engineering teams. The last steps are a mock QBR in front of a panel and a call with a C level

The Interviewing is a 7 Stage process of which the selection of your CV counts as number 1 and the following call with the hiring manager as number 2. Number 3 is to use Cloudflare DNS on your own website, after which you should write up an assessment of your experience (no indication as how this should look. In Stage 2 with the hiring manager, he did mention that they have a long interview process and move slow. The initial interview just went through every step of my professional history not focusing on what one can actually bring to the table as a CSM - hence none of the questions were focused on the role of a CSM to assess suitability based on my experience. The interview went 15min over the scheduled time, however even before that time ran out I mentioned that I had another meeting, the hiring manager continued for another 5 mins regardless of other commitment. After completing Stage 3 the following day and no response to a question I had for three full days, I decided not to continue the interview process notifying the hiring manager by email, after which of course I shortly received an email that I wasn't selected anyway. Make of that what you will:)

Why did you decide to go into CS rather than Sales since the money is better?
