One of the best hiring I've ever encountered. Highly professional but with authenticity and great human factor. Recruiters are guiding through the process, highly professional and welcoming. Conversation with hiring manager was more a conversation than a classic interview or evaluation. It seemed more important to get an understanding of what both sides are looking for and if it will be a mutually positive fit. Often interviews feel uncomfortable because hiring managers try to make the interviewee trip or bring them into a position where they can't answers given questions. Interviewing at cloudera/ex hortonworks was different, there are better ways to understand if a person has the right skills, experience, expectations and culture. My impression was, that they have inspiring people with great attitude. Especially the fact that part of the interview stage was a conversation with 2 potential colleagues. That's truly beautiful that management trusts in their team so well, that they are part of the hiring process. It also ensures that new people hired, will fit into the existing team. Business decided to fill roll in the next quarter which is the reason why no offer was made, but the entire hiring and interview process was positive and should inspire other companies to evolve from their outdated hiring methods.

Long; it took over 3 months. In the end they went with an internal candidate that they never revealed was waiting on the position for the 4 months they took to interview. Not only grueling, but unfair for all candidates involved.
