      Entrevista

I had a phone interview with my then future manager, follow by an on-site interview with my then future manager, a PM, and the VP of engineering. The phone interview was super chill. The questions were totally reasonable about my personality, why I wanted to leave my current position, and my skills. When I arrived on-site, I had my portfolio prepared and walked through it with the various interviewers, however, that did not seem to be as important as how I engaged with the interviewers. The questions were similar to the phone interview; why are you leaving your current company, what are you looking for, etc. I stressed that I wanted to be in a company where I could make an impact and every person I spoke to made it very clear that CloudLock is that place. The company has many practices in place to recognize their employees; everything from personal goals being tied to your bonus to company-wide recognition along the company values. Everyone I spoke to was passionate but easy-going; competent but not obnoxious. Furthermore, everyone seemed like they genuinely liked working at the company and with each other, it seemed like a fun, passionate, and collaborative team.

      Entrevista

Not Worth It - Unrealistic Expectations First started off with a phone interview. I was criticized about my lack of “verbal” skills. This made no sense, i have been told many times by multiple people that I’ve very well spoken so it was a bit of a shock. After the semi-negative experience on the call, I was hesitant to come in but was reassured maybe my "poor performance" was due to it being a phone interview. I went to the office which is basically hidden behind a bunch of mills in Waltham. The atmosphere wasn’t as nice as it was portrayed online. interviewers continued to cut me off during my interview, and they seemed generally agitated for most of it and continued to criticize me on my "verbal skills" Come to find out, the woman was an english major (in addition to her technical/design role) and had unrealistic expectations. the second person who i interviewed with was very scatterbrained. He grilled me over and over about how would I go about convincing people (mainly opinionated developers) that my work is valuable and see if I could stand behind my design decisions. This is normal, but the approach he took ended up being a pointless exercise. All that I gathered from this interview is that its a nightmare to work there if you’re a designer since they stated on multiple occasions that developers challenge designs constantly and don’t care that you have the skills.

      Pregunta 1

How would you convince opinionated developers to remain consistent to your designs during implementation (because they are notorious to coding at whim and doing what they want)
