I had a phone interview with a recruiter, who outlined the expectations of the position and proceeded to ask me to elaborate on my previous internship experiences. The recruiter also asked questions to determine if I had the skills and experiences preferred in the area of material science. There were not many behavioral questions that I had difficulty answering and no technical questions.

What experience did you have in material science? This was unexpected as there was no indication that the opening for engineer was related to material science.
