The interview process was extremely lengthy, consisting of five rounds plus a case study assignment.
The role I applied for was an individual contributor (IC) position, yet candidates were expected to complete a highly time intensive case study on the company’s platform. In my case, it took approximately 25 hours to learn the platform, build the solution, and prepare a presentation deck. The assignment also required a functional software build. During the process, the hiring manager mentioned that some candidates spend up to 40 hours completing it.
I understand the need for thorough evaluation for certain roles, but requiring this level of unpaid time commitment for an IC position felt excessive. Five interview rounds combined with such a large case study was surprising and, in my opinion, not well calibrated for the role.
The company appears to have a strong culture and good people, but the expectations and time demands of the hiring process were difficult to justify.
